That night, James sat on his bed, scowling at the entire situation. What was it that boy had that, like a magnet, pulled away any girl he liked? First Emma, then Kori? And then he remembered his insults, thrown like punches at the sweet beautiful flower that was Emma. What had he said in his rage? He replayed the scene in her head" OH, SO THAT'S YOUR BIG "COMEBACK"? THIS- THIS -WAS ALL A MISTAKE. Goodbye. Goodbye forever this time."


"Ugh! I'm so stupid!"

He sighed and collapsed on his bed in defeat. His Emma, the only true love he'd ever had. Her beautiful smile, her sweet, gentle touch that made him fall for her the day they met, when she grabbed his hand and led him to the playground, giggling. He remembered the moment at the Hospital when their eyes had locked for a few brief moments. He saw their date at Usual, the way she looked that night of the double date in that yellow dress that trailed to the floor. Emma, Emma, Emma. He lost her in his own jealous arrogance.
