Dark. I couldn’t breathe. But all that came to my mind was Rosallyn. Sweet, beautiful Rosallyn. She was mine, all mine. We would get married and move to Paris and have 15 children. I would be rich and we would live in a mansion. A noise interrupted my thoughts, like a whoosh. I blinked, finding myself in a wheelchair, pushed by a girl about 17 years old. I looked at her, confused. “It’s okay, grandpa.” she said. I blinked, waking up on a bed, gasping for air. Rosallyn ran over with a worried look on her face. “Are you okay, Jackie?”She sobbed. I put on my “pretty-boy” face. “I’m okay, beautiful...you’re not so bad yourself.” I mimicked from an old movie I watched. She giggled, “What?” and kissed me on my cheek and darted away. I followed her and fell into my beach dream. But then, a disturbing thought cut into my brain. Betrothed? As in, forced into marriage? I’m not getting forced into anything! She’s not that pretty, anyway. I’m going to break up with her right now! I tried to stop myself from doing it. You love her! Nothing else matters! Don’t let your pride get in the way of true love! Stop now, before you lose her, just like you lost Mila Walker! I told myself. Mila Walker was a girl I liked in 6th grade. She had hazel hair and amber eyes that seemed to never cease in beauty or wonder. I had loved her like I loved Rosallyn. Then, suddenly, a hand held my shoulder. “Jackie?” said a voice. I turned around to see two amber eyes. MILA?
